Started back in 2014, Ello is a social network built for creatives. Since its acquisition in 2018 by Talenthouse, the combined creative community of over 14 million creatives have had access to submit work for some of the world’s biggest brands.

In partnership with Vodeno, Ello U is designed to cater for the financial and commercial lives of the creative community. Along with its banking services, Ello U provides rich engagement features that nudge creatives towards making better financial decisions and improving their financial health.

A Friendly Face

When designing the identity, the object was simple: adapt Ello’s existing brand into the financial sector. Replicating the famous smile mark, with the extra-bold U supporting the Ello logo; the intent was to keep the playful & creative tone, whilst distinguishing the brand as a stable & trustworthy payment platform.

Custom gradients, photo-treatments, icon sets and debit card designs were made in addition to the brand mark.
